Hartford Ducklings League

Who: Two leagues of 12 children each, from low income families.

 

When: Fridays from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm and Sundays from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm, from April 19 to June 16. The first 30 minutes of each of the first eight weeks will be coaching for one team. This allows for 2 weeks of pre-competition coaching and establishment of an average, then 6 weeks of regular season competition and then the last week for the championships (on June 16)
 

What: A $3 weekly alternative sports league. We wanted to make this 100% free, but we also wanted to make it 100% awesome, and so we are charging $3 per week per child to provide for 30 minutes of coaching before each league competition as well as a free pizza party celebration on the last day with trophies awarded for high average, most improved, league winners and more!

The league will be 90% handicapped. For example, if one child has a bowling average of 60 and another has an average of 80, 90% of the difference will be added to the 60 bowler, bringing their score to 78. A high percentage handicap ensures that every bowler contributes to their team, no matter their average.  The first two weeks will consist entirely of coaching and establishing averages, and the
